Tom Hughes (born 18 April 1985) is an English actor, best known for his roles as Jonty Millingden in ITV drama Trinity, Chaz Jankel in Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Bruce Pearson in Cemetery Junction, and Nick Slade in BBC legal drama Silk. Hughes was born and brought up in Upton-by-Chester, Cheshire, the younger of two boys. He attended the Liverpool Everyman Youth Theatre group. He was a member of the Cheshire Youth Theatre and the Jigsaw Music Theatre Company. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting. Hughes is the former guitarist of indie band Quaintways. Hughes began his career in 2009 as Dr Harry Ingrams in the BBC spin-off series Casualty 1909 and Jonty Millingden in the ITV drama Trinity. He made his feature film debut the following year as Chaz Jankel in the Ian Dury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll and Bruce Pearson in the comedy-drama Cemetery Junction, the latter of which earned him a BIFA nomination for Most Promising Newcomer. He also appeared in the Young Vic production of David Harrower's Sweet Nothings directed by Luc Bondy. In 2011, Hughes was named one of BAFTA's 42 Brits to Watch. He played pupil barrister Nick Slade in series 1 of the BBC One legal drama Silk, and appeared in the BBC television film Page Eight alongside Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz. Hughes then appeared in the Richard II instalment of the television anthology The Hollow Crown as Aumerle. In 2013, he starred in the BFI/BBC film, based on the award-winning novel, 8 Minutes Idle as the lead role Dan Thomas. He made a guest appearance as Michael Rogers in an episode of Agatha Christie's Marple. In 2014, he had a lead role in BBC Cold War spy thriller The Game. From 2016 to 2019, Hughes starred as Prince Albert opposite Jenna Coleman as the titular character of the ITV period drama Victoria. He starred in the 2019 film Red Joan alongside Judi Dench. In 2019, it was announced Hughes would play the recurring role of Christopher Marlowe in the second series of A Discovery of Witches.

Jonathan Aris is a British stage, film and television actor, he is the son of the late British character actor Ben Aris but, despite having a thespian as a father, acting was not his first choice. He studied painting at Camberwell School of Art and read Russian and Italian at Cambridge University before training as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Like his father, Jonathan has chiefly been seen in character roles, notably on television as the private secretary to the (female) Prime Minister in The Amazing Mrs Pritchard (2006). He also does a great number of voice-overs for television commercials and narration for documentaries. He has made numerous stage appearances and was in the original London cast of "Fame - the Musical".

Brian Denis Cox (born June 1, 1946) is a Scottish actor. A classically trained Shakespearean actor, he is known for his work on stage and screen. His numerous accolades include two Laurence Olivier Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award, as well as a nomination for a British Academy Television Award. In 2003, he was appointed to the Order of the British Empire at the rank of Commander. Cox trained at the Dundee Repertory Theatre before becoming a founding member of the Royal Lyceum Theatre. He went on to train as a Shakespearean actor, starring in numerous productions with the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he gained recognition for his portrayal of King Lear. (2001), he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. His other notable films include Manhunter (1986), Iron Will (1994), Braveheart (1995), The Boxer (1997), The Rookie (2002), Troy (2004), Match Point (2005), The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep (2007), Coriolanus (2011), Pixels (2015), and Churchill (2017). Cox won the Primetime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his portrayal of Hermann Göring in the television film Nuremberg (2001). The following year, he guest starred on the NBC sitcom Frasier, earning his second Emmy nomination in 2002. He portrayed Jack Langrishe in the HBO series Deadwood. He starred as Logan Roy on the HBO series Succession (2018-2023), for which he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series and was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

Chloe Pirrie (born August 25, 1987) is a Scottish actress. She has played main roles in the 2014 miniseries The Game, the 2012 film Shell, and the 2015 television film An Inspector Calls. She has also appeared in the 2016 miniseries War & Peace, the 2015 film Youth, the 2015 film Blood Cells and a 2013 episode of Black Mirror. In 2015 she also co-starred in the Academy Award winner for Best Live Action Short Film, Stutterer. Pirrie was raised in Stockbridge, Edinburgh, and attended the Mary Erskine School. She began acting in school and decided to pursue it as a career after being cast in a school production of The Cherry Orchard. She moved to London at the age of 18 to attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated in 2009. Pirrie's professional acting career began in 2009. She made her debut at the Royal National Theatre in a 2010 production of Men Should Weep alongside numerous other Scottish actors. Shortly afterwards, she appeared in Solstice, a short film released in 2010. Her first role in a feature film was in Shell (2012), a Scottish drama in which Pirrie played the eponymous main character. In 2015, she starred as Ellie in the Academy Award winner for Best Live Action Short Film, Stutterer. Ellie is the love interest for Greenwood (played by Matthew Needham). Greenwood has a major stuttering problem and can't speak effectively, causing him to panic when Ellie suggests they take what had only been an online relationship, offline to meet in person. She also starred in the Death In Paradise episode 'In The Footsteps Of A Killer' as Grace Matlock, an employee at the Saint Marie Times. She also plays Lara in the 2016 BBC thriller series, The Living and the Dead. In 2017, she starred in the Netflix series, The Crown for its second season, playing Eileen Parker. In 2018, she appeared in the BBC/Netflix miniseries Troy: Fall of a City.
