A pharmacological lecturer and a former concert pianist. He was brought up in Alexandria, Virginia and studied History of Art at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg. However he abandoned his studies to come to England and enroll at RADA, where he met his wife, actress Phoebe Fox, whom he married in 2010. Since graduating Kyle has garnered excellent reviews for his stage work in 'The Government Inspector' at the Young Vic, 'The Faith Machine' at the Royal Court and 'Long Day's Journey into Night' at the Apollo, as well as playing Gaveston in the National's controversial 'Edward II'. On television he contributed an excellent cameo in the sitcom 'Bad Education' as an all-American boy who was actually from Dudley in the Midlands and played sympathetic but troubled Francis in the BBC remake of 'Poldark'.

Jack was born in 1985 and grew up in his native London, attending Westminster School and the Hall School, Hampstead, where he got into acting . From Oxford University he went to study acting at LAMDA but left when he was spotted and cast as Benvolio at the Globe Theatre, taking part in other productions there, as well as at the Orange Tree, Richmond and the Royal Court. Here he was seen by casting director Andy Pryor who got him into television, with a small role in the period drama 'Dancing on the Edge' and a more substantial, recurring part as Freddie, daft son of the house in 'Blandings'. Now an established television face he has appeared in the likes of 'Poirot' and the remake of 'Poldark'.

Bentall was born at home in Camden, London. She is the daughter of actors Janine Duvitski and Paul Bentall. Bentall's first professional acting job was an episode of Holby City, which she filmed in 2006 while still at Richmond College. Bentall made her stage debut at the National Theatre in 2008, appearing in productions of DNA and The Miracle. She has also lent her voice to the BBC Radio 4 drama Sister Agnes Investigates. Born in London, she is the daughter of actress Sylvia Syms, and sister of Benjamin Edney and a cousin of musician Nick Webb. Edney first came to audiences' attention as Heather MacLeod in the 1986 film Highlander, the first film in the Highlander series. She returned to the role again in the 2000 film Highlander: Endgame. In 1987 Edney performed the title role in the TV production of 'The Dark Angel' with Peter O'Toole. In 1990, she appeared in the Bruce Beresford directed film Mister Johnson alongside Pierce Brosnan and Edward Woodward. In 1994, she played the role of Louisa Gradgrind in the television adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel Hard Times. In 1995, she had a starring role in the Channel 4 sitcom Dressing For Breakfast. In 2012 she played Queen Charlotte in The Madness of King George III, in a revival at the Apollo Theatre.

She and Geoffrey Palmer (Lionel) had previously played estranged spouses a decade earlier in Carla Lane's series The Last Song.
