Bergl was born in Milton Keynes, England to an Irish mother and an English architect father. She lacks a British accent because she moved to Chicago with her family when she was a child and attended Glenbrook South High School and Grinnell College, where she was the lead in several school productions. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1997 with a B.A. in English and Theater. She has a brother. Bergl's big break came with the lead role of Rachel Lang in the 1999 film, The Rage: Carrie 2, the sequel to the 1976 supernatural thriller Carrie. Much of her acting also takes place on television. Bergl has appeared in episodes of the TV shows Gilmore Girls, CSI: Miami, Medium, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, NYPD Blue, and Star Trek: Enterprise. She also appeared in the psychological thriller Chasing Sleep, opposite star Jeff Daniels. Bergl had a major role in the Steven Spielberg 2002 miniseries Taken. Bergl had a significant co-starring role in the ABC series Men in Trees as Annie, an enthusiastic fan of the series' main character, relationship expert Marin Frist (Anne Heche). Annie travels to every event Marin appears at, and ends up in Elmo, Alaska with Marin. Annie stays in Elmo (as does Marin after she decides to re-evaluate her life), when she meets Patrick Bachelor (Derek Richardson), a local hotel desk clerk and radio DJ she knew through online chats about Marin's books. Recently, Bergl played in Becky Shaw at Second Stage Theatre in New York in the beginning of 2009. Since 2010 Bergl has also performed a cabaret show called Kidding on the Square, which had a run in the summer of 2010 in Los Angeles and New York, then later in Chicago. As of the season's second episode Bergl played Paul Young's new wife, Beth, in the seventh season of Desperate Housewives.

John Amos (December 27, 1939 – August 21, 2024) was an American actor and retired football player. He is best known for his role as the adult Kunta Kinte in the landmark miniseries "Roots" and for portraying James Evans Sr. on the CBS television series "Good Times." He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and an NAACP Image Award. On film, he played numerous supporting roles in movies such as "The Beastmaster" (1982), "Coming to America" (1988), "Lock Up" (1989), "Die Hard 2" (1990) and "Coming 2 America" (2021). Prior to acting, he played on the Colorado State Rams football team and in 1964, he signed a free agent contract with the American Football League's Denver Broncos and in 1967 signed a free agent contract with the American Football League's Kansas City Chiefs. Both of these contracts did not land him a spot on the teams and played a final season in the Continental Football League with the Victoria Steelers before pursuing acting.

Strange was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, the daughter of screenwriters Susan Lynn (née Ward) and Marc Strange (creators of The Beachcombers). She grew up in Canada's entertainment industry, and has appeared in comedic, dramatic, and science fiction projects on both big and small screens since graduating high school. Strange has since garnered multiple Gemini Award nominations for her acting, winning an award for her guest role in the Canadian series Neon Rider at 21. Strange is also known for playing the voice of boy-type Ranma Saotome for the OAVs, movies and first three seasons of the anime series Ranma ½. She played Jill Langston in the Canadian Science drama ReGenesis. Jill was lead virologist in season 1 and 2. She also provided the voice of Franklin in Dinobabies and Rookie in Littlest Pet Shop. Most recently, Strange was among the cast of the American romantic comedy-drama Men In Trees, on which she portrayed the town barmaid and a reconciling wife opposite Abraham Benrubi. The role comes two years after a previous series for the network. She also appeared on Life As We Know It as a recurring role named "Mia", the mother of Kelly Osbourne's character. She also reprised her role of Ganos Lal/Morgan le Fay in the direct-to-DVD movie Stargate: The Ark of Truth. Strange has also appeared on an episode of Sanctuary titled "Kush" as Dr. Allison Grant.

She began her stage career in Chicago appearing in productions at the Goodman Theatre, the Court Theatre and the Victory Gardens Theater before moving to New York City. In New York, Kofoed was best known for productions on and off Broadway. Her Broadway credits include Proof with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Night Must Fall with Matthew Broderick. She was born in India and raised in Vancouver, Canada, since the age of two. Her most recent work was in Men in Trees playing the character Sara Jackson. She was playing a nurse named Bobbie Jackson in the TNT series Hawthorne, which began in 2009. After three successful seasons the show will not be returning for a fourth. She currently plays Dina Tomlin on the U.S. TV series, Red Widow. Television audiences know Mathew for her role as Dr. Sunita "Sunny" Ramen on the acclaimed and award-winning Canadian dramatic series, "Da Vinci's Inquest." She earned three Leo Award nominations for Best Actress for her role. An international hit, the series recently made its syndicated debut in the United States. Mathew also had a recurring role, on the Emmy Award-winning "The West Wing," as well as Stephen King's "Dead Zone," and co-starred in Hallmark Entertainment's sci-fi miniseries "Final Days of the Planet Earth." In addition she has appeared on such series as "The X-Files," "Stargate SG-1," "The Crow," "Highlander" and "MacGyver." Her feature film credits include a starring role in the Sundance Festival hit, "Touch of Pink," directed by Ian Iqbal Rashid.
