He is known for his starring roles in numerous comedy films and for his role as Michael Bluth in the Fox / Netflix sitcom Arrested Development and Marty Byrde in the Netflix crime drama series Ozark (2017–2022). He has received several awards including a Golden Globe Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2017 he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has since established himself in Hollywood by appearing in numerous films. His sister is actress Justine Bateman. In 2014, de Rossi was cast as Elizabeth North on the political thriller series Scandal. Howard first came to prominence as a child actor, guest-starring in several television series, including an episode of The Twilight Zone.
