A hatrészes sorozat a világhírű amerikai thriller író, Harlan Coben Nincs több esély című bestsellerét dolgozza fel. Dr. Alice Lambert (Alexandra Lamy) szokásos reggeli rutin teendőit végzi otthonában. Miközben hathónapos kislányának készít reggelit a konyhában, egyszer csak távoli lövések dördülnek el, majd minden elsötétül és Alice összeesik. Amikor a kórházban felébred a kómából, akkor tudja meg, hogy férjét megölték, kislányának pedig nyoma veszett. A rendőrség tehetetlen, sőt ő az első számú gyanusított.
