Jean and Dom prepare to tie the knot, but nothing can prepare them for the unexpected obstacles standing in their way. With their Christmas Eve wedding drawing closer, the village is shaken by the murder of Mayor Stephanie Arquette, whose body is discovered in the historic fountain. The killing comes at a particularly sensitive moment - controversial redevelopment plans are about to change the square, and tensions around the work have divided local opinion. A valuable bronze by sculptor Leopold Chauveau, known as the Monstre, brings serious trouble to Brodeur & White when it is stolen from the shop and Simone is attacked by an intruder. The incident is disturbingly close to home, leaving Jean and Charlie to question whether someone from the antiques world has deliberately targeted them.
