He is best known for portraying the young Alan Turing in the film "The Imitation Game"(2014), which won him the London Film Critics' Circle Award for 'Young British Performer of the Year'. This was followed with a starring role in 2015 film "Departure", opposite Juliet Stevenson. He also played the lead role of James in the Channel 4 series The End of the F***ing World (2017–2019).
