At the age of 13, Brown was cast in her most notable film, the Disney Channel Original Movie Halloweentown, in which she played 13-year-old teen witch Marnie Piper. She reprised her role as Marnie in two sequels. In 1999, she co-starred with Janet McTeer in Tumbleweeds. She also starred in another Disney Channel original movie, the 2000 film Quints. She portrayed young Christine Chapman in My Sister's Keeper (2002), Sarah Sanderson in Bringing Down the House (2003), and Tiffany in Be Cool (2005). She had a recurring role as Shana Taylor on AMC's Low Winter Sun and appeared in the YouTube series Christy's Kitchen Throwback. In May 2021, it was announced she had joined the cast of General Hospital.
