Julianne Moore (born Julie Anne Smith; December 3, 1960) is an American actress and children's author. Prolific in film since the early 1990s, she is known for her portrayals of emotionally troubled women in independent films and her roles in blockbusters. She has received numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and two Emmy Awards. Starring roles in the blockbusters Nine Months (1995) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) established her as a Hollywood leading lady. She received Oscar nominations for her roles in the period films Boogie Nights (1997), The End of the Affair (1999), Far from Heaven (2002) and The Hours (2002); in the first of these, she played a 1970s pornographic actress, while in the other three, she starred as an unhappy mid-20th century housewife. Her career progressed with roles in The Big Lebowski (1998), Magnolia (1999), Hannibal (2001), Children of Men (2006), A Single Man (2009), The Kids Are All Right (2010), Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011), and Maps to the Stars (2014). She won a Primetime Emmy Award for portraying Sarah Palin in the HBO film Game Change (2012) and the Academy Award for Best Actress for portraying an Alzheimer's patient in Still Alice (2014). Her highest-grossing releases came with the final two films in The Hunger Games film series (2014–2015) and the spy film Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017). She has since starred in independent films and streaming projects, including Haynes' May December (2023) drama and the historical drama miniseries Mary & George (2024). In addition to her acting work, she has written a series of children's books about Freckleface Strawberry. She is married to director Bart Freundlich, with whom she has two children.

Anthony "Tony" Curran (born 13 December 1969) is a Scottish actor. Curran was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He is an alumnus of Holyrood Secondary School and is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Tony rose to fame in the BBC television series This Life. Since then, the Scots star has appeared in a number of major film and television roles. Some of his roles have included The Invisible Man in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. To portray the Invisible Man, he donned a special suit that turned him into a walking bluescreen (according to his commentary on the DVD, he looked like a "smurf on acid"). Curran also played the vampire named Priest in Guillermo del Toro's Blade II. Curran is active in participating in marathons to raise money for charity. He is a keen fan of Celtic Football Club. He is a frequent and popular participant in the annual Dressed To Kilt event in New York City, run by the organization Friends of Scotland in celebration of Tartan Week. In April, 2009 Curran revealed to the Daily Record newspaper that he is playing the role of Lieutenant Delcourt, in The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, due to be released in 2011. Curran played the painter Vincent Van Gogh, in the Doctor Who episode "Vincent and the Doctor", written by Richard Curtis. He also made a cameo appearance in "The Pandorica Opens".

McCarthy's performance was praised by critics, and he won the award for Best Actor at the Galway Film Festival. In 2021, McCarthy starred in the film The Tragedy of Macbeth, directed by Joel Coen. The film is an adaptation of the Shakespeare play, and McCarthy played the role of Seyton, a loyal servant to Macbeth. McCarthy's performance was praised by critics, and he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture. McCarthy is currently filming the upcoming film The Banshees of Inisherin, directed by Martin McDonagh. The film is about two lifelong friends who become enemies after one of them makes a mistake.
