Jake Foley az Amerikai Nemzetbiztonsági Hivatal egyik laboratóriumában dolgozik számítógép-karbantartóként. Vaughn, az ipari kém szeretné megszerezni Jake-et, a Hivatal pedig vele szeretné folytatni a kísérleteket. Vaugh kezéből végül a Hivatal menti ki a fiút és a barátnőjét, így Jake belemegy az együttműködésbe a kormánnyal.
