Well visits the church where Cardinal Hohenheim introduces his granddaughter, Elise. Thanks to the Cardinal`s clever manipulation of their conversation, Well is soon engaged to Elise, but he finds himself conflicted at the way all these nobles view political marriage as the natural course of things.
