Több száz évvel ezelőtt Kim Shin-re, a hős hadvezérre mestere által lesújtott egy kard, de ő csodával határos módon mégsem halt meg, hanem egy örökéletű dokkaebi (koreai mitológiai lény) lett belőle, ami átok és áldás is a számára. A jelenben Kim Shin épp ott tart, hogy már nagyon elege van a halhatatlanságból, szeretne végre békére lelni, de ez nem olyan egyszerű. Hogy vágya teljesülhessen, egy emberi menyasszonyra van szüksége, mégpedig olyanra, aki képes látni és kihúzni belőle a kardot. Fel is bukkan Eun Tak, az életvidám középiskolás lány, aki megoldás lehet a problémájára. Tervébe azonban hiba csúszik, ugyanis egyre jobban belehabarodik a lányba, ahogy a lány is elkezd beleszeretni morcos, de érző szívű jótevőjébe. Vajon e hatalmas szerelemmel ér véget halhatatlan élete? Vagy szerelmük ereje képes leküzdeni minden akadályt?
