He rose to prominence for his role as rapper Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles in the FX comedy-drama series Atlanta (2016–2022), for which he received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Henry has also appeared on stage, making his debut performance in the Shakespeare in the Park production of Romeo and Juliet (2007) and acting in various plays at the Public Theatre before appearing in the original Broadway cast of The Book of Mormon (2011).
