He studied acting at the Canadian Film Centre and made his professional acting debut in the 2017 film Brown Girl Begins. He has since appeared in a number of films and television shows, including the recurring role of Detective Malik Abed in the television series Coroner. In 2019, McQueen was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film Disappearance at Clifton Hill.
