Jessica Marais (born 29 January 1985) is a South-African-born Australian actress best known for her roles on Australian television in Packed to the Rafters and Love Child. She also co-starred on the American drama series Magic City. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Marais and her family lived in Canada and New Zealand before relocating to Perth, Western Australia, when she was nine. Six months after arriving in Australia, Marais' father Tony died from a heart attack while returning from a family picnic. Marais and her younger sister Clara were raised by her mother Karen. She attended a Catholic co-educational school John XXIII College in Claremont for a year and then went to St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls from 1995 until her graduation in 2002. Jessica attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art where she graduated in 2007. NIDA appearances included Ophelia in William Shakespeare's Hamlet and Charity in Sweet Charity. While still completing her final year she won the role in Packed to the Rafters, along with co-star and fellow NIDA graduate Hugh Sheridan. Marais was engaged to former Packed to the Rafters co-star James Stewart in 2009, then ended in 2015. They have a daughter together born in May 2012.

Kerry Armstrong (born 3 January 1958) is an Australian actress and author. Armstrong spent one year on the American soap Dynasty playing Elena Duchess of Branagh. She began her television career as a weather girl in Melbourne before taking acting training in Melbourne and New York. She lived in the US from 1981 to 1987. In 1987, Armstrong returned to Australia upon the death of her grandmother. In the early 1990s, she resumed acting in Australian television series, including Police Rescue, Ocean Girl, Come In Spinner, All Together Now and Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left. After commencing a university degree in Law, Madeleine caught the irrepressible acting bug and decided to defer her studies indefinitely. From an early age Madeleine has shown a flair for the arts, performing in front of family and friends at any given opportunity. Her talent for acting was rewarded in 1992 with entry into the NSW Talented Child Drama Ensemble, and has since been honed through years of study at such institutions as Swinburne University, Tamworth Conservatorium of Music and Riverina Drama Ensemble. She has also undertaken short courses at the highly esteemed NIDA, along with courses in Voice, Movement, Drama and musical theatre at various ensembles both in Victoria and interstate. In 1999 Madeleine was awarded the 'Be Your Best' Performance Scholarship from the Australian Drug Foundation. While Neighbours is her first full time television role, Madeleine's amateur theatre credits include Arsenic and Old Lace, Night Reflections, Theatre in the Raw, After Midnight Before Dawn, Bye Bye Birdie, None the Wiser, and Snow Queen among several others. Also a trained singer and dancer, Madeleine is looking forward to refining her craft on Australia's longest-running series, Neighbours.
